Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)
About Role
We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS) who thrives on solving complex cloud challenges and building automation that powers large-scale, modern applications. You’ll be at the heart of designing and optimizing cloud-native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and resilient infrastructures that run critical workloads across AWS. You’ll work on challenging, high-impact projects across enterprise and SaaS environments, collaborating with architects and MIR teams to drive automation, reliability, and performance at scale.
Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering role, with a strong focus on production AWS environments (EKS, ECS, Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (equivalent practical experience considered).
Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) is highly preferred.
Additional Certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate is a strong plus.
Infrastructure as Code: Advanced expertise in Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform being mandatory (CloudFormation or Ansible is a plus).
CI/CD & Tools: Solid experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
Architecture & Messaging: Deep understanding of Cloud-Native Architecture, Distributed Systems, and working knowledge of message queues (SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for automation tasks.
Systems & Networking: Strong understanding of Linux administration, cloud networking, security, and IAM frameworks.
Industry & Domain (Preferred): Experience working in SaaS, FinTech, or ISV product environments.
Advanced Tech (Preferred): Exposure to Service Mesh (Istio, Linkerd), Serverless (Lambda, Fargate), or familiarity with multi-cloud environments (Azure or GCP).
Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, an ownership mindset, and a proactive approach to challenges.
Key Responsibilities
CI/CD Pipeline Architecture: Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native and containerized applications to ensure safe, rapid code delivery.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Manage, automate, and provision scalable cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
Containerization & Orchestration: Administer, monitor, and scale Kubernetes clusters, Docker containers, and related container services.
Architecture Collaboration: Partner with development teams to enable cloud-native architecture, microservices, and message-driven systems using SQS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
Observability & SRE: Implement centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or CloudWatch. Partner with the MIR team to establish modern SRE practices and incident management.
Cost & Performance Tuning: Conduct infrastructure performance tuning, cost optimization, governance, and scalability planning across all environments.
Process Improvement: Collaborate with dev teams to improve release processes, deployment strategies, and drive DevSecOps and GitOps adoption.
Incident Management: Identify root cause analysis (RCA) for complex production issues and take preventive actions.
Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a company-wide culture of reliability, automation, and continuous improvement.
